  • Monitor key health indicators such as blood pressure, cholesterol and blood glucose

  • Many common health conditions develop gradually and may not cause symptoms in their early stages. Regular health screening can help identify concerns sooner.


Do I need symptoms to have a health screening?

No. Health screenings are designed for people who may not have any symptoms but want to proactively monitor their health and wellbeing.

What is covered under my health screening benefit?

Depending on your level of cover, you may be able to claim towards the cost of the following health screening when carried out with a qualified practitioner in a clinical environment on an out-patient basis:


  • Blood pressure, heart rate, height, weight and Body Mass Index (BMI) measurement
  • Urinalysis to assess kidney function
  • Lung function tests, particularly for those with asthma, shortness of breath or recent chest infections
  • Resting ECG (heart assessment)
  • VDU eye assessments, including near and distance vision checks and colour blindness screening
  • Blood screening including home testing with Randox Health
  • Liver and kidney function testing
  • Haemoglobin and iron level testing
  • Full blood count
  • Screening for gout and haemochromatosis
  • Lifestyle questionnaire and analysis, including diet, exercise and wellbeing review

Can I use Randox Health for my health screening?

Yes. Health screenings completed through Randox Health may be eligible under your health screening benefit, subject to your policy terms and benefit limits. All Level Health members can access exclusive member discounts with Randox Health, if you have enhanced day to day cover on your plan you may also be eligible to claim back the cost of your test.

What is included in a Randox Health screening?

The tests included may vary depending on the package selected. Many Randox Health assessments include a range of blood tests and health measurements that help assess areas such as heart health, liver function, kidney function, diabetes risk, nutritional health and general wellbeing.

Are Randox home testing kits covered?
Expand

Yes. Eligible Randox home health testing kits may be claimed under your health screening benefit, subject to your plan terms and available benefit limits.


Please retain your receipt and any supporting documentation when submitting your claim.

Can I complete my health screening at home?

Certain home health testing kits, including eligible Randox home testing kits, may be covered under your health screening benefit. However, some screenings require attendance at a clinic or healthcare provider to complete the assessment.

Do I need a GP referral?

No referral is typically required for routine health screenings. However, individual providers may have their own requirements.

Where can I have a health screening?

Health screenings must be carried out by a qualified practitioner in an appropriate clinical setting. Eligible providers may include:

  • General Practitioners (GPs)
  • Health screening clinics
  • Occupational health providers
  • Specialist health assessment providers, including Randox Health

Eligible home testing kits may also be covered where included under your plan.

How do I make a claim?

To claim for a health screening:


  1. Attend your health screening appointment or purchase an eligible home testing kit.
  2. Pay the provider directly.
  3. Keep your receipt and any supporting documentation.
  4. Submit your claim through the Level Health Member App or Member Portal.
  5. We will assess your claim in line with your policy terms and benefit limits.

How often can I claim for a health screening?

The frequency and benefit limits depend on your specific plan. Please refer to your Table of Cover for details.

Are follow-up appointments covered?
Expand

No. The health screening benefit covers the screening itself only.


Any follow-up consultations, treatment, investigations, therapies or ongoing care resulting from the screening are not covered under the health screening benefit. These services may be eligible under another benefit on your plan, depending on your level of cover.

What happens if my health screening identifies a potential issue?

If your results indicate that further investigation or treatment may be needed, you should consult your GP, Level Health QuickClinic where you can have an on-demand consultation with an Irish based doctor for advice on the next steps. Health screenings are intended to identify potential health concerns and risk factors but do not replace medical diagnosis or treatment.

What documents do I need to submit with my claim?

  • Proof of payment (receipt)
  • Details of the health screening or eligible home testing kit purchased
  • Any additional documentation requested during the claims process

Incomplete documentation may delay the assessment of your claim.
